Meryl Rinelli, MS, LMHC is a
Licensed Mental Health
Counselor specializing in the treatment of eating disorders
for 12 years. She has training and experience with addictions
counseling as well. Meryl has a Bachelor’s Degree in
Psychology from St. Joseph’s College, NY and a Master’s
Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island
University - CW Post, NY. She has also supervised interning
staff members, assisting in the completion of field internship.
Meryl provides individual, group, family and couples/marital therapy, in addition to facilitating psycho-educational parent/family support groups and eating disorder support groups. In addition to specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, Meryl also provides therapy addressing other issues such as depression, anxiety, stress management, trauma, obsessive compulsive behaviors, etc. Psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches are used to assist the client in understanding the process and creating changes for a healthier life.
Meryl works in a collaborative approach with a network of professionals, specializing in eating disorder treatment. These professionals include nutritionists, medical physicians and psychiatrists.
Meryl has participated in Health & Wellness Fairs, educational speaking engagements at public schools, as well as volunteered her time with NEDA-LI (National Eating Disorder Association - Long Island) events.
